Dates & Times

Our 2017 Philadelphia store visits for international retailers and suppliers fit perfectly into an itinerary for attendees going on to attend the 2017 NACSShow in Chicago which runs from 17-20th October. NACS Schedule of Events

Event details

Sunday 15th October: attendees arrive into Philadelphia International airport, take a taxi to our designated first choice hotel, the excellent Kimpton Hotel Monaco, 433 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Welcome Drinks and catching up with old friends in the hotel bar from 7.00pm

Monday 16th October: an early start with a briefing session as we go to spend the day with our good friends at Rutter’s, Sheetz and Wawa’s and see their latest convenience store designs and innovations.

Pennsylvania is undoubtably one of the most innovative and competitive convenience store markets in the World and as we were planning this over the Autumn we were hugely impressed with the latest innovations in the market. These dynamic retailers are rapidly evolving their foodvenience proposition, extending food choices into healthier options, driving mobile ordering and delivery (particularly in their new urban C-stores) and, thanks to a change in regulation for alcohol sales in the State, introducing some excellent Beer Cave designs, better than any we’ve seen globally.

That evening we’ll all enjoy an excellent dinner together in Downtown Philadelphia, discuss the day and think about all the ideas we’ve picked up.

Tuesday 17th October: another early start, a global best practice presentation and a briefing at the hotel before we depart for downtown Philadelphia. Our safari will feature a hosted visit in one of Wawa’s new urban stores, perhaps the best we’ve seen anywhere in the world this year with its upmarket, classy new look. We’ll also see Sweetgreen, SNAP Kitchen, Hip City Vege, Walgreen’s, Bluestone Lane Coffee, Burger FI and Bryn & Dane’s Healthy Fast Food.

Returning to the hotel for a 1pm checkout we’ll then offer transportation back to the airport and for those travelling with us to the NACS Show, the retail adventure continues!
